Cognitive Screening

“Person, Woman, Man, Camera, TV”

A short web adaptation of the kind of screening tool a doctor uses to check for cognitive decline — inspired by the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA). It is intentionally easy. Most healthy adults will score near the top. The point of the test is to detect impairment, not to measure intelligence.

Orientation

Do you know what day, month, year, and season it is?

Naming

Identify three animals from pictures.

Attention

Count backward from 100 by sevens.

Abstraction

Spot what two things have in common.

Memory

Memorize 5 words, then recall them at the end.

For self-reflection and entertainment only. A real cognitive screening must be administered by a clinician — if you have actual concerns about memory or thinking, talk to a doctor.
